Sound crashes when display monitor turns off via Power Management
I searched the forum for this issue, but didn't find something like it. Here's the problem, I have power management enabled on my music server. After 1 minute, the Windows "blank" screen saver kicks on with no playback issues. After another minute the power management is supposed to turn off my display monitor. At this point the sound crashes (DirectSound or Wave outputs). When I re-initiate the display monitor the song is in "fast forward" playback and I get a sound error.
error creating directsound buffer #8878001e If I turn off monitor power management and leave the screen saver on, I have no issues at all. However, I really would like the monitor to turn off because I use my music server in a darkened theater room and the light from the monitor interfers with my projector. I like to listen to music while watching sporting events, the anouncers are just too annoying! I've been able to fix this issue in the past, but usually with a rebuild of the computer software. But at this point, that's becoming too time consuming. If it helps, I'm a software analyst with 20 years of heavy computer experience, so I'm usually up on most anything computer / theater related.
