Cannot rip with winamp pro and more
Hi,
I have several issues using Winamp Pro 5.552 (x86). I am running Vista Ultimate x64. Is there a x64 version of Winamp available? First of all I was unable to set the file associations using the Winamp options. The options there are totally ignored. I had to use the Vista "Default Programs" options to set the file associations. Even after that Winamp will not start when opening CD tracks. When I go to the CD in winamp the track will not play when I double-click the track number. It will just show the track number for a few seconds and then go to the next one, etc. without any sound. It also does not seem to retrieve the CD track information. I cannot rip the CD using Winamp too. It says there are no tracks to rip. Although I clearly see the tracks. One other thing I noticed is that the Winamp CD ripping options shows an empty combobox for the Encoding Formats. No encodings are available to choose from. I hope you can help to let me use my purchased Winamp Pro. Ohh one other thing. It was really difficult to activate my account. Somehow this website is unable to send emails to my normal email account. I never had a problem like that before. I use it in so many places. Now I had to change it to some spare hotmail email address I still had. |
1. there is no x64 version available(its unnecessary anyway at the moment)
2. all your other problems appear like sonic burning/ripping engine was not installed. have you tried running winamp as administrator(when opening winamp right click on the icon --> run as administrator) I can rip and burn on my system which also has vista x64. |
Okay I did a reinstall and found out that I had to expand some nodes to select some important installation parts.
Most of the stuff works now as expected. |
