creating internet tv
 

I wanted to know does anyone knows how to start your own internet tv station. I have a radio station and im steaming to my website but I want to know how to start a tv station online? Can you do it with shoutcast tv and also can i stream videos and music at the same time but on different pages of my website with winamp? Thanks

You need to use Nullsoft Streaming Video (NSV) for this.

You can stream SHOUTcast over nsv, as long as everything is running on a different port, afaik.

I downloaded nsv but when I try to add a sourcr then click ok I get that it has encountered a problem. What am i doing wrong?

Also i'm not really sure exactly how to set things up. I hope i downloaded the right thing. I downloaded the nsv tools. Is there anything else i need to do? Is there a step by step manual or something to show exactly how to set thins up?

Alright I've got the tools downloaded and I even enceded a video i wanted. I want to know how do I get the server set up too. I know it showed me the same way as if I was streaming the music but do I open up the server again while its already running? The thing is I want to stream my radio station and stream the tv station at the same time but is it possible to do that on the same server? Or do I have to choose only streaming the music or video?

you cannot run 2 streams on the same server.

you would need 2 different shoutcast servers to do so.

Well you havent told us much about your setup but you can use 2 different ports so assuming you have a dedicated server?

for example 8000 for audio and 9000 for video.

if you are running this from home then you will not have the bandwidth available and need to look at hosting options

so how would i use two different ports in the shout server? I mean how do I set it up. How do I set up the two different ports? Can you give me a step by step on how to set this up to run the 2 ports with one as audio and one as video?

You need to install 2 instances of the server and change the name on the second one.

You need to read Nicks instructions more carefully ...

install 2 instances of the shoutcast dnas server

change the name of the second shoutcast dnas server

copy the shoutcast config file from shoutcast dnas server #1

rename the shoutcast config file

place the shoutcast config file in shoutcast dnas server #2

change the port in the config in shoutcast dnas server #2
