Few Simple Questions

How do I remove the Video Tab? (The one between Media Library and Visualization - I thought I removed that in the setup)

How do I edit the album art for say a whole album ( about 100 songs at once ), instead of each song individually? (Can't figure this out)

If choosing "Artist/Album" view - it sorts my music by album (right side), but when I select "Artist/Album Cover" it sorts them by the artist (right side). I want the right side sort by album and show album cover while the left should sort by artist without covers. How would I set this up?

:winamp: :winamp: :winamp: :winamp: :winamp: :winamp: :winamp:

EDIT: Also the Show Info tab, I know that I removed it before, but now I forgot.

EDIT2: I combed through the options, still haven't found it..

You can't unless you edit the skin.

You don't define art for alter art for every file, you do it for a whole album.

Sort the covers by the album name.

Show info tab? Do you mean the file info pane in the Bento skin? You can set it to show something else there but you can't remove it completely.

Oh.

So, do you mean, that if I edit the album cover for one file, it will edit the album cover for the rest of the files in that said album? I can't find an option to change the album cover for an entire album. (There is the Refresh and Get Album Art Options, but they do not have option to change album art manually - it searches the net, which obviously wouldn't have custom albums and really rare stuff). Edit Selected Items does not seem to have an option for changing the picture either.

If I set left plane to album and the right to album cover, I can sort the right plane by album, but if that said album has multiple artists, I will get multiples of the same album and that is my problem.

K. It doesn't actually get the information unless I expand it, right?

:)

EDIT3:

That "Info" with that "Show Info" and "Hide Info" button, modern default skin, seems to pop up automatically, when browsing Local Media - so, that is not really good.

Sorry I never used to try to organize my MP3s b4.

When you create a cover, it will be used for all the other files in that album. This just happens because the cover is placed in the containing folder as %album%.jpg.

Right, set the Album Artist field the the same, non-empty value then albums will be grouped.

Still having no luck with this. So... it just doesn't refresh itself?
I mean I set one mp3 to have a certain pic, but the rest still showed old pic - so I did it manually.

I set the view to album/album - both sides sorted songs by the album - when I toggled thumbnails - it sorted them by artist. :(

Have a screenshot,

EDIT3: That screenshot ain't album/album view though.

Right, both your problems sort of come from the same real issue. Winamp is not grouping this album together. I told you how to fix that before: "set the Album Artist field [to] the same, non-empty value".

Setting the Album Artist field for all the files that belong to this "101% Jumpstylemania" album to something like "Various" will make Winamp group them together when the covers are shown.

Yes, Winamp likes to sort covers by the Artist (or is it the Album Artist) field.

Because Winamp caches the covers it won't see that the updated album art for one file applies to the rest also. This should be fixed by refreshing the missing ones. This will only work if all the files for a particular album sit in the same folder. If they don't then that is a very odd way to organise files IMO.

Now I understand, I set the album artist to Various and now it grouped it together.

Found how to remove the button too again.

I think I get the whole caching thing. It seemed to update with more high res than what WMP was offering. WMP messed up some covers for me. NIN files though remained in good standing.

Last Question, any way to prevent the web tab from ever doing anything? I could use my HOSTS file to redirect it to home ( 127.0.0.1 ) - that would work but still web tab would pop up if I click accidentally somewhere where I do not want to...

Thanks!

Ok, serious daily usage issues continue,
:mad::mad::mad:

How do I transfer my MP3 on my NSIGNIA player while retaining album covers and the album?

First, it creates a bunch of folders by ARTIST instead of organizing by ALBUM. So Instead of transferring 301 MP3s in 3 folders, it transferred 301 MP3 in about ~40 folders. I am just going to use explorer instead. It also didn't ask me where to transfer them to exactly, which is odd, and caused me to need to cleanup the mess.

Second, before Winamp, I had no image files in my My Music folder. Now I have a bunch. I figured, why not? How do I update my MP3 with Cover Art without using image files, like I have the rest of my files - download that free NIN album if you don't know what I am talking about.

>.<

Configure the naming in Prefs -> Media Library -> Portables -> %device name% -> Advanced tab. If you don't have the advanced tab, bitch to the manufacturer/Microsoft for how they designed their software.

If you want to embed covers, use another program. MP3tag for example. Embedding is also the only way for Winamp to put art on a portable (possibly except for bizarre connections like the iPod)
