Winamp and Sony Walkman
I have a Sony Walkman NWZ-S639F and am trying to sync with Winamp.
It works fine from a clean install of Winamp. However, on subsequent syncs it will try and sync a few files already sync'd with the message eg '5 files not on device and 5 files on device not in local media'. These will be the same files that are already on both but somehow Winamp thinks they are different - like some attribute of the file has changed eg Run.mp3 on the device is not recognised as being the same as Run.mp3 on the computer. (its always the same few files - I've tried changing/shortening their names etc but no luck) Even deleting the local version of the file, removing dead files etc, rescanning library, winamp still keeps a record and trys to sync again. This has happened on two PCs Vista and XP Pro and with the Walkman connected using MTP or USB driver. (USB not ideal as Music isn't put in the right folder on the device) i) Is there a solution or ii) Is there a sync 'cache' that can be cleared so winamp doesn't remember non sync'd files as a workround. The only way to do it at the moment is to allow Winamp to sync these files everytime with the sync option to delete the versions on the device to avoid duplicates. Thanks :weird: |
