Winsock remote control
 

My desktop computer contains my music collection and plays on the home sound system. I use my laptop when i am lounging in the lazy boy or chilling on my patio. I would like to run winamp on my laptop and connect to the winamp on my desktop using winsock to control winamp remotely. When i press the controls on my laptop's winamp, I would activate the controls on my desktop's winamp. I click "play", and the song plays on my desktop computer. i do not need all the controls, i just need play, stop, song position, next track, random, volume, and some way to select songs in the media library. i can map a drive to the desktop drive. can we do this?

If all you want is to control your main sound system from your laptop, then remote desktop is probably all you need.
