Set playlist up to chose random server
Hello.
I use a playlist (listen.pls) to launch my station. Inside that there are 3 different servers that I use. Instead of launching them in sequential order I'd like it to chose one of the three servers randomly. I feel I'll get better utilization if I use them randomly, as by default it only moves to the second one if the third one is full or unavailable, and so forth. Is there a way to accomplish this? My current .pls is below (with IPs removed) [playlist] numberofentries=3 File1=http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx Title1==PlaZma Radio - www.PlaZmaRadio.com Length2=-1 File2=http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx Title2==PlaZma Radio - www.PlaZmaRadio.com Length2=-1 Version=2 File3=http://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx Title3==PlaZma Radio - www.PlaZmaRadio.com Length3=-1 Version=2 |
I think the best way to do what you're asking is to have a webserver dynamically generate the contents of the .pls file every it is accessed. Usually with some kind of script.
