Last track of an album listed as first on Local Media

I get the feeling this is a commonly asked question, but I've never seen my specific question asked.

You see, I don't make playlists; I just use the local media menu to browse and listen to my music. I have everything sorted by artist, and the tracks fall into place in order like they should...

Usually.

Occasionally, I'll get an album where the last track is the first, despite having the track number show that it's out of place.
Ex:
Track 9
Track 1
Track 2
etc...

This occurs on about 1% of the albums I have, and I've never been able to figure out why. If I could re-arrange the files in Local Media view, I wouldn't bother with this thread and I'd just fix them manually.

Running XP Pro, SP3 I believe.
I have the newest version of Winamp Pro, as well.

So, what do?

Check the metadata to make sure that the 'Disc' tag is the same for all of the tracks in the album. I've had this happen when one track's Disc tag was empty and the rest said Disc 1/1. It orders by disc first so that can put them out of order.

Ahah!

Thank you so much, that fixes it.

Have a good one, mate.
