Winamp Search Feature

Hey guys,

Well I was hoping I could avoid creating an account to get this resolved (if it's possible). But after re-installing Winamp multiple times using different compatibility modes and testing with a handful of artists/albums, and then finally researching through the forums for an answer, I figured it's best.

This is the simple issue... I have an OQO Model 2 (Micro computer) with Windows 7 32-bit running 1.6ghz with 1gb of ram. I've pretty much stripped my Windows 7 down to nearly nothing, it's almost bare bone so I know this isn't a performance issue.

The OQO I have is primarily used for playing music in my car and for taking any notes (such as shopping list, I'm a paper nazi)

Anyways, after installing Winamp, I've attached a 1TB passport external HDD, with a nice amount of songs. When I open Winamp and search for a specific song or even artist, I'll only get 1 hit sometimes up to 10 hits, that is, if I'm looking specifically for an artist. If I look for a specific song (song A), I won't get any hits, but then I'll look for another song that's within the same album (song B), and it'll find it.. even though the whole album is located on my external HDD.

So the very first thing I did was remove all media from my media library, then re-add all my songs, and try again.. and still Song A is not found but Song B is found... I'll check the specific artist > album > list of songs, and all songs are there.

I remove all media from my media library again, this time I only add 4 different artists with 1 of their albums each. This time I search for the artist to validate artist is found.. but nothing! Then I search Song A, nothing. Song B, it appears. I look through my local media and I can clearly see the song there and I'm able to play it.

So what gives? And crazy enough... it's all my most favorite songs that can't be found, or my most favorite artist or even their album -.-

I tested this on my desktop... I have no problems what so ever finding any song, artist, or album. I personally don't want to uninstall Winamp and use something else... but I need Winamp to run flawlessly, especially on the road.
