Can't get Winamp to step up - take charge
I recently inherited a Dell Vostro 400 running Vista R2 32 bit. It is 3 years old and had lots of crap on it so I restored it to factory setup from the restore partition. I just downloaded and installed Winamp 5.5 Free version. For some reason I cannot get it to play music CDs. Winamp opens from the desktop icon just fine but when I try to load a CD it doesn't seem to see the tracks. If I browse to the CD drive with windows explorer and right click on one of the tracks and choose open with Winamp nothing happens then either. If I just left click on a track it plays just fine with Windows Media Player. I have tried to change the file relations to Winamp in the Control Panel but that didn't help either.
Sorry if this is old hat on here but I didn't see anything that helped me by reading here for awhile. I have been using Winamp as my music played for many years on other PCs. I really hate Win Media Player. Help! |
