How to get Winamp to play rarely heard songs?

Even though I have my winamp set to shuffle all the time, it plays most of the commonly heard songs. Is there a setting or some plugin that will record the number of times a song has been played, so that the rarely heard songs can play?

Instead of having Shuffle on you coild try ramdomizing the playlist...
Misc button in playlist > Sort ('Sort List' in classic skin) > Randomize list
If you like that, you might want to consider using DrO's Time Restore & Autoplay plug-in. Which has a "Randomise Winamp's playlist on load" option. That option will randomize the default/current playlist each time Winamp is started.

-or-

If you prefer to use shuffle, try DrO's Playlist File Remover plug-in. The idea is to remove each song after it is played to ensure that a song will not be played again, thus preventing Winamp from playing a song more than once,

or if you're using the media library, you could create a smart-view with low playcounts, and set that as your playlist contents or send the smart-view to the queue which will then override the normal playlist editor playback and also allows you to randomise the then queued contents - is how i select lesser played songs without messing up my existing playlist structure.
