Changing tracks makes everything freeze for a few seconds

I'm using :
- Winamp Standard 5.58
- Windows 7 64-bits
- 8 GB of RAM, Intel Core2 Duo
- ASUS Xonar DS sound card

I just recently started using winamp and I definitely want to stick with it, but there seems to be something not working well with mine.

Whenever I play a song from a playlist and hit the "Next Track" button, everything freezes for about 5 seconds (including the mouse cursor). This also happens whenever a track naturally ends and another one starts.

I tried reinstalling, but it didn't work

Is this a known issue?

Me again, the problem is still here.

Yesterday I unplugged my MP3 player from my computer and everything worked fine for the night.

This morning, I tried launching Winamp again but the problem came back, even if my MP3 player was unplugged. Not only that, but the freezes seem to last longer. It now takes about 2 minutes to start Winamp and 30 seconds to switch songs.

However, I tried installing it on my laptop (Windows 7 32-bit) and it works perfectly fine. Could it have something to do with my sound card? Or my Windows 7 64-bit?

Another update :

I uninstalled iTunes last night and winamp started working fine again. But when I tried it again this morning, the freezes started happening again after a few songs from a 150 songs playlist.

Sorry for bumping this thread so much but I really don't know what to do. I made sure I didn't plug in any MP3 players or external devices between last night and this morning.

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins may at least give us an idea of what is in your Winamp install which may (or may not) explain what you're seeing.
