Winamp causes weird volume equalization

I'm sorry about not being able to articulate it better, but in recent updates of Winamp, I've noticed a new feature that some people might like, but I really hate. While songs are playing, something causes the program to try and equalize the sound (make everything the same volume). It ends up cutting out most of the bass, and some of the treble, and making my music sound horrible. I am wondering if there is any way of disabling this, or if even anyone knows what I'm talking about. I know it's Winamp and not my speakers because it only does it with music in Winamp (YouTube music sounds normal).

Thanks in advance.
