I am having an issue getting my downloaded skins to work.
 

Hello, I just downloaded the new 5.58 Winamp on my computer and I can not get any skins to work. Every time I open the skin file, the usual pop up window asking if you are sure you want to install this skin pops up. I then proceed to click yes and then it just starts up the old classic themed skin. Any ideas?

Sounds like the skins make use of Classic Pro to work.

if the skin you have downloaded ends with .wal then it is possible that you haven't installed the modern skin support (can tell if there is a modern skins entry as a child of the 'skins' entry in the preferences dialog.

if that is there then i'd suggest moving you skins folder to %appdata%\Winamp\Skins (can be done via the skins preference page where it will move the folder (the next 5.59 release will show a prompt to confirm that change as 5.58 just blindly moves things). as you've not provided a plug-ins list (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins) we've no idea what OS you're using as it could be a UAC issue or might be something else but often moving the skins folder on Vista \ Windows 7 improves the handling when installing a skin.

also would be helpful to provide a link to one of the skins you've tried to install if none of that works.
