Compilation Albums - separated by artist
This is a problem both when I download an album that is "Various Artists" (such as the classical album I bought on Amazon mp3) and one a create myself, tagging all of the songs with the same album name (and the same Album Artist name, using Winamp's own tagging process). In the albums, they show up as a separate album for each artist.
This makes the album pretty much useless in Winamp. Is a solution to this coming? |
You are not the only one who has noticed this. I sent a feedback to Winamp today regarding just this issue. The album view is really messy as it uses the artist field, not the album artist.

Hey i know what your talking about and theres a way in preferences to change it to use the album artist instead of artist
your phone has to be plugged in. options preferences portables android drive advance file name format I set mine to (no quotes) "F:\Music\<AlbumArtist>\<Album>\## - <Title>" hope this helps |
Thanks, GroundControl, I tried that but it didn't work! Nothing changed at all. I tried the rescan, but can't seem to get it to stick on the phone.
Has anyone from Winamp discussed this issue? If not, why not? |
you have to resync everything after :/
Edit: oh and make sure your using the correct drive letter, mine was F so you might have to change it |
Yes, mine is L, so I just edited the pathway right as it sat there, only changing the Artist to albumartist.
Resync in which way? I pressed the sync button and it told me there were a bunch of songs on the phone that are not in the Audio Library (it tells me that every time even though they are there), so I resynced again. But there are none that need to go from my computer to phone (I have WAY too much on my computer to keep all of that on my phone, so I just have selected stuff on the phone). But that sync did not seem to change anything. Do I need to delete the stuff on my phone and then drag and drop it again from the computer? |
