Some files not syncing wirelessly to my Android phone
I recently downloaded and installed the Winamp app for my Android phone and enabled wireless syncing. In general, the feature works really well and has been very convenient for me. However, I've stumbled upon an odd problem: 3 of my MP3s (out of 1100 or so) refuse to sync wirelessly. I've never had a problem with these files before (they play just fine) and there doesn't seem to be any commonalities among them. But every time I try to sync them to my phone, the entry in the transfer queue stays stuck at "Connecting"; I have to shut down Winamp and restart it to unfreeze it.
I thought maybe the ID3 tag was corrupt or "bad" in some way, so I removed it entirely and added it back in manually, but this did not fix the problem. Has anyone heard of this before? Is there anything I can do to debug it some more? Here is one of the files giving me problems: http://www.mediafire.com/?u2o4k11z9kw3pum |
Some ideas
I've had similar issues. In you specific case I think it is that your ID3 tag for the Album name has non-standard characters, e.g. a colon and comma. Because WinAmp uses Album names for directories when storing the files it has issues.
Also doing a Format Convert of a 48kHz 320kbs to an ABR 48kHz ~147kbs helped in one of my cases. |
I'm not entirely satisfied with that explanation (which I've seen in other forum threads), because other MP3 files with "bad" characters in the album name field transfer to my phone just fine. I think you are right that it has something to do with the album name field, but it doesn't appear to be deterministic.
