Can ID3 tag's be read on the Android OS?
I ask this question, because I just noticed that album art is not attached to the mp3 files like on the PC, they're stored in a folder called 'albumthumbs' in the root folder of the phone (For people with issues with album art not showing occasionally, emptying out this albumthumbs folder usually fixes it).
I've also noticed that it seems much of the sorting on the phone occurs via folder paths and file names, leading me to think the Android system is unable to read ID3 tags. Is this correct? It would also explain why CD number's are ignored in my Albums - in Winamp for the PC, I can open one Album, and it will sort the songs by CD # first, then Song # secondly. Winamp for Android simply sorts songs by Song #, meaning my albums with multiple disks get muddled up in the Album view. |
