Better audio book support for Android Winamp
I've yet to try out the new version of Android Winamp released today but the previous version is great for audio books. Once I switch on my Bluetooth stereo headphones, and press the play button, it automatically launches Winamp and immediately starts playing where I last left it. The pause/play buttons work perfectly and no matter if I exit the application or reboot the phone, it will always remember the last played position. This is great for music playback too.
However, it would be better if there was better support for audio book playback. Specific features would include: 1. Support for booking marking positions. (Great if someone was listening to more than one audio book). 2. Can customise the function for each of the buttons on the Bluetooth headphones. The skip back and forwards buttons often skip an entire chapter but I would love to be able to configure it to set it to 10 seconds for skip back and 30 seconds for skip forward. 3. Even better if it would recognise double taps of buttons on the Bluetooth headphone and/or long hold as this would allow a greater number of configurations for the limited buttons on the headphones. Whether it is intentional or not, I believe Winamp is currently the best and most reliable application for audio book playback. I think the above features would make it that much more awesome. |
