How many sc_trans for 1 sc_serv

Hello all,

Currently I have 5 five sc_trans (aac+) running on one sc_serv.

I'm wondering how many sc_trans can I connect to one sc_serv...
What's the limit ? I guess it depends on the server ?
my server=>I7 intel, 4 cores, 8 threads, 12 Go ram. Average CPU 5%

In the future I'll need to run more than 50 sc_trans, may be 100
What's the best solution in your opinion ?
10 sc_trans for 1 sc_serv etc ???

Thanks for your advices

the only real answer is 'no idea' unless you try it out as i've only ever had a few running at the same time when testing things out and that's with a lower spec systems and didn't have any issues.

network bandwidth to the dnas and then cpu usage will be the main issues you're going to be look at when running multiple instances.

and the theoretical source limit on the dnas is 2147483647 which i doubt you'll hit before all other issues arise.

Ok, the best way is to test :)

yup, since it's just not really possible to say how many will work as a guess since there's so many things which can vary. with bandwidth usage it's possible to guess a limit, just not really when it comes to cpu usage, etc.

I knew that number wasn't insignificant. That's 0x7FFFFFFF in hexadecimal of which, if I'm not mistaken, is the highest value a signed 32 bit integer can contain. I knew I recognized that number from somewhere. Actually had to bust out the calculator. lol Gawd I'm such a dork.
