[SPLIT] Authhash Creation Issue - Genre Encoding Issue

I have reviewed the youtube videos many times and bought the mp3 transcoder key. after days of fiddling with this new setup I cannot seem to get the authhash to work. I keep getting.
Error Code: 467.
"Parameter value not recognized in stored values"

I download and save files like in the tutorials and still having this problem... any suggestions?

Dj331: Can you please make a screenshot of the create authhash page before you click create and pm me a link to a temp upload or email it to me (address via my site from my signature). Also can you confirm what OS and browser (including verisons) you are using please.

have split this from http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=331394

end result is the test build works (confirmed from another user) and was a problem with the encoding of the information from the create authhash page to the DNAS before being passed onto the YP.

fix will be released as part of the next DNAS update (not sure on eta of that).

radiorack: just stop being a dick ok - as that's all i'm getting from the 8 other posts you made since i last looked at your posts.

as you've not provided any information in the correct place for issues regarding authhash generation, it most likely is not the issue which you've quoted but that fact you're just not reading the information properly.

if you don't like the v2 system, use your search engine of choice to find the old v1 DNAS download and use that to your hearts content.

the v2 system does work and is used in production by a large number of stations now. maybe it is a bit rough around some edges but compared to using a v1 DNAS, once setup it's a hell of a lot nicer to deal with than the v1 system is (my own opinion based on compatibility testing with the v1 DNAS which is a dog).

and with that, i'll let you get on ranting about things. but don't go round hijacking other people's threads - if you want to rant then keep it to one place, or just don't use SHOUTcast as it seems you'd be much happier.

You have to understand my frustration!

1. About a month ago I noticed that my listerners dropped off by 90%. At the same time I found that the SHOUTcast player would not play my station.

2. Yesterday I downloaded the SHOUTcast DNAs 2 and install it (just like it stated in the poorly written "The Getting Started guide provides a detailed step-by-step guide on how to get your station up and running!") Also the "The SHOUTcast forums" had no real clear answer.

3. I then searched for a HELP to understand the new V2 and I found all this bragging about some conf builder that even comes with the download, it kept asking my to upgrade my flash... I DID.

4. After about an hour, I got the server page to come up and say my server was working but was not public? That is a over rated web media player if no one can search me or find me or listen to me..... RIGHT

5. So I followed the installing info that said go to the SHOUTCAST site and hit profile to get a authhash, it stated you dont need one...... REALLY.

6. I then found a get authhash link on my SHOUTcast DNAs page that is not even playing my station, and it gives me WHAT more errors.

So I'm sorry about last nights post, but very upset that ALL my hard work creating a radio station that was new a doing really well. NOW I'm sitting with a wreck.

I am at work, but I will return to it after work and sent another night trying to repair.

Again SORRY to the forum, but NOT VERY HAPPY with SHOUTCast. I installed IceCast last night as a last ditch effort, and the install and setup took 75 seconds.... I wish SHOUTcast could be that easy.

OK! so day2, I mean night 2..

I'm getting to the SHOUTcast Authhash Management windows from my server page, but! big but... Error

Error Code: 467.
"Parameter value not recognized in stored values"

I have retyped the required info half a dozen times and all I get is:

Error Code: 467.
"Parameter value not recognized in stored values"

AND... When my server is so called connected, I can't play from anywhere. It sounds good over speaker but nothing on line.

See for yourself:
http://108.67.148.87:8390/admin.cgi?sid=1&mode=register

I click "listen" and Windows Media Player opens, but says media can't play because "Media Changing" I am lost!

which about corresponded with when there was an initial site outage which basically plagued most of August.

what is poor about it? no one gives any explanation, just says it's poor so how can it be 'fixed' ?

that i find hard to believe as none of the documentation on the wiki or in the current downloads has references to the old shoutcast.com site registration to get an authhash. and http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...ng_An_Authhash is pretty clear on how to get an authhash.

the 467 error code is due to a validation issue in the public v2 DNAS build (fixed internally but a new release is a while off) with the handling of certain characters which slipped through testing that causes the response before being passed to the YP servers getting mangled in some scenarios (mainly from genre's with / or - in them).

i see you've now gone back to the v1 DNAS anyway from the urls posted above.

DrO I realize this post is over 2 years old but I'm having the exact same issue. I would of guessed it would of been resolved by now, so not sure what the issue is. I'm doing this for a client of mine and its running on the new Centovacast v3 server.

DrO 8th April 2013 18:10

pick a different genre (misc for example) and then pm me the authhash and i can alter it that way. as there hasn't been a newer v2 DNAS released, that is why there is no fix for this despite the age of the thread. the specific issue is due to the & in the genre not being correctly escaped by the DNAS and also it not correctly processing the response in some cases.
