If so how? |
yes and is referenced in the docs.

Where? I have not find it
|
http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...r_2#Networking (or in the text version which is provided with the installer / archive) and i believe it's the same option name as the v1 DNAS used as well...

hi agen. I what file do i put it? In the Basic or Public or what?
|
you put it in whatever config file you are using.
|
ok i have tried in all Config file Public and Basic. i use this
namelookups=1 And it seems not to be woorking. |
there is no guarantee it will show anything other than the raw IP address of the client.
all that option does is make the DNAS attempt to do a reverse-DNS lookup on the client but if the host the DNAS is running on is not able to determine it (since it's a call into the underlying sockets api so depends on what that is able to find) then it will just keep showing the raw IP. -daz |
But in Shoutcast 1 it woorked Grate. So it shut be put in like it was in Shoutcast 1
|
the code of the v2 DNAS is not the same as the v1 DNAS so comparing between one and the other is not a direct match.
maybe it isn't working correctly in the v2 DNAS but as its not a feature i've ever tried on either versions of the DNAS i do not know. i will log it as something to check but there is no eta on when that will happen. and once again, cut the size of the text in your signature to be normal forum text size or it will be removed if not done by the end of tomorrow. |
ok. Is this better?
|
i've set it to the default text size (was still set at size=2) and made the text one line so it now doesn't take up so much of the screen (was an annoying issue on a small screen with the original size of the signature) though it does equate to 4 lines of text when the rules is 3 but compared to before it's better.
|
with the namelookup issue, where are you determining that it isn't working?
as i can confirm it is not shown in the client details list on the stream admin page but the DNS name is correctly determined and shown in the client connection messages in the log output. [edit] if that is what you meant then i've just finished updating the client list to be able to display it in the internal builds. and with that now done i'm going to try to get some sleep... -daz |
i mean that when i put it in any Config file it only shows the IP Address not like it shut.

as you don't seem to want to answer questions, if you're not going to give an actual answer than "it's not working" as your post above is, i think i'll just add you to my forum ignore list and i'll leave it as that as i've wasted far too much time trying to get actual answers from you which would be better spent on people who actual give proper details to confirm issues, etc. |
