WinAMP PRO Privileges Unavailable after purchase of license

I purchased two WinAMP Pro licenses at the Android Market in November

My phones are operated on wireless connections as I don't subscribe to a 3G/4G phone service. My copies of WinAMP PRO on both phones do not recognize that I have paid licenses so WinAMP locks me out of the equalizer function I paid for on each phone. This situation exists whether or not I am connected to the internet via wireless network.

Is there anyone else experiencing this problem? Is WinAMP going to do something to resolve this problem for licensed users?

Did you ever have Pro on your phones (and then lost it)? A problem like this has been posted (by me and others) and Winamp says they are working on it.

Try completely uninstalling Winamp and then downloading it from Android Market (or where ever you got it originally) and reinstalling it. The first time you start the program, it will show as the free version. Click on the equalizer button and Pro should activate.

If you restart your phone you will likely lose access to Pro and will have to uninstall-download-reinstall again to get it back.

I am actually having a slightly different problem. If I turn my phone off for a bit, then turn it back on, I lose my pro license. If I then RESTART my phone, I get the pro license back. Not too big of a deal, but inconvenient at the very least.

WinAMP PRO Privileges Unavailable after purchase of license

I did try the un-install/re-install that was suggested and get the same result when the phone goes offline. I have received no response from WinAMP. In light of this apathetic attitutde of WinAMP management toward paid license holders, I have been trying out other players as an alternative to WinAMP.

I looked into PowerAMP as a replacement and Astro Player NOVA. I am leaning towards Astro Player NOVA as it supports amr 3gpp and mp4 native android av formats as well as all the usual music only codecs. Currently Astro Player has been avoiding the WinAMP licensing issue problems noted above by keying the license to the phone IMEI. So the player checks the IMEI of the phone and turns on paid content whether or not the phone is online or offline. The Astro Player creator will be releasing a version in accord with the Google Marketplace allowing the APP to run on any phone that uses the users GMail license account, nice if you upgrade phones.
