Winamp Pro deletes text playlist upon modification
 

Android 2.3, NOT using sync (after reading all the woes). I am rebuilding a 50 song text playlist (.m3u) by hand, b/c I removed two songs from it using my phone. The file on the PC disappeared in a chkdsk /f routine I had to do last week, so the copy on the phone is the ONLY copy. Little did I realize that editing a playlist on the phone causes WinAmp to move it to a hidden database and delete the text file!

In fact, it's TOO easy to unintentionally edit the file by accidently moving songs in the list, if you are left-handed (IOW, hold the phone in your right hand and tap, etc. w/ your left). The touch zone for the Move function extends beyond the graphic almost halfway across the width of the phone (portrait); scrolls turn into moves about 10% of the time for me.

I have received an education. We all know what that is - it's what you get when you don't get what you wanted.
