YP Hash Key
 

Hello, the new Centova Cast v3 is finally stable enough but we are still unable to get the YP Hash key to work.

We are not able to create in the SHOUTcast v2 DNAS,
Error Code: 470.
"Invalid authorization hash"

Did something change with SHOUTcast v2 over the past year? I haven't really messed with this much but remember this did work, also the page http://www.shoutcast2.com/shoutcast-authentication-key/ is no longer there ??

Trying to remove the key gives a error also

Looks like everything has changed, what's the deal with http://yp.shoutcast.com/ does this url also need to be changed?

This Wiki says to use yp.shoutcast.com - is this correct?

a 470 error code can mean either the authhash you are using is no longer in the system (as can happen if not used at all or if not used for over 30 days) or what you've got specified in the streamauthhash line (if at all) is either empty or invalid.

that was never an official page and as too many people referred to it as being official, we in the end asked for it to be removed especially when it was out-dated and provided the wrong information. all authhash management is either done in-DNAS or via the authhash api if a registered partner with the access to use that api.

the best option is to manually edit the line in the configuration file and make a new authhash as per the instructions at http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...ash_Management (which are referenced in the sticky threads in this forum as well as in the official documentation and on the wiki versions).

there is no need to be doing things with that address so i'm not sure what you're trying to see / do via it.

you just need to leave the DNAS using the default YP server details - that is why they are the defaults. as mentioned above, http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...ash_Management is the page for how to use the in-DNAS authhash management page, what you've linked to is the page for partner access and if you're having to ask about that here then it's not something which is appropriate for you.

there hasn't been any changing of the links to the download store to my knowledge though it's not an area i generally get involved with so maybe it has but i'm not sure. all i know is that the link provided on http://www.shoutcast.com/broadcast-tools to get the mp3 license for sc_trans to enable mp3 encoding is correct and what is provided on that page is the only offical link to be going via - remote link is not suggested anyway.

Yes the instructions on that page say to ..

"To create an authhash for a stream then you need to click the Create Authhash link"

(1) do not have that option (2) Click remove also get a error
Error Code: 464."Authhash could not be found or removed"

are you using the current public build of the v2 DNAS since the in-DNAS method didn't appear until build 27 (with build 29 the current one).

if streamauthhash_1=abcdef is what is set in your config file then that would explain the 470 issue (unless you're using abcdef to replace your actual authhash). in either case you would need to change it to just be streamauthhash_1= before following http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...ash_Management


if you really want i can check the authhash if you pm me it, though it's generally going to be simpler to delete the current one from your config file and create a new one with how authhash's have been generated for the last year.

That is just the default settings when you create a new account in Centova v3,

but yes you were correct, I removed just the abcdef and restarted and I now have the option, thanks Dro~! A lot of my clients are going to be very happy about this!!

rightio, well as long as it's working now then that's the main thing. though i hadn't seen the image when i first replied but it now gives me the impression that a number of the changes made in the internal builds are going to possibly cause some breakages on the Centova handling, oh well i guess it's just one of those things.

--- does that mean over 30 minutes :( These Hash keys are a mess!

if the YP is slow to respond then it's possible that the DNAS will sit on the state being seen with the current public build (since internally there have been a number of changes made to improve the handling of the authhash management so is possible you're hitting one of those issues).

if it's gone over a minute then you're best off going back to the summary page and trying again. waiting 30mins is not going to achieve anything if the DNAS is stuck on that page for that long.

yes I have been re-trying over and over, the client just got the mp3 key less than 1 hour ago but I have other's on the same server with the same IP address that are fine. I pm'ed you the details of this

the login details you pm'd aren't working, am unable to log in to the DNAS's server admin page.

Sorry it's that 2 different password requirement for source and admin, just makes things more confusing :(

i've replied back on the pm.

the different password thing is actually more sensible than what the v1 DNAS did especially when used in the context of a hosted service. plus the isolation between source and admin logins helps prevent malicious source connections messing things up.
