Genres, Albums and Artists

I have my music, on my Samsung Galaxy s2, in /sdcard/external_sd/Music.

I have my "Home" set to this folder.

However when I open Winamp Pro (latest version - purchased today) I get only the Genres/Albums/Artists in Root; just 5 songs when there are over 5000 on the external card?

How do I get Winamp to read all my genres, albums and artists as does Poweramp, running on the same phone?

i'm not sure i follow but did you try rebooting the device?

athegn 7th February 2013 09:18

Thank you.

I tried rebooting and on opening up Winamp then pressing Genres the SD card was searched. When that appeared to be finished, after several minutes, Genres, Albums and Artists still only shows those few in the root directory.

A second reboot does nothing; no searching of SD card. Note Pressing Folders shows the folders on my 64GB card.

Could it be that Winamp does not like 64GB cards for Genres/Albums/Artists?

I am wondering if it is my file structure.

My "songs" are:-

/sdcard/external_sd/Music/MP3 128/Album Folder/Song

I have three folders under Music, one of which is "MP3 128"; the other two folders "Birds" and "Speech" also contain album folders and then the songs. In "MP3 128" there are some 400 folders for each album.

This structure works in Winamp desktop and Poweramp Android.

Any advice please?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Winamp and Winamp Pro.

Still not working.

How can I obtain a refund?

MrSinatra 10th February 2013 18:43

did u try removing the space in the folder path?

athegn 11th February 2013 08:37

Thank you but changing MP3 128 to MP3_128 made no diffeence.

Note that a quick change to PowerAmp ensured that that app picked up the renamed folder.

Is there not a way to direct Winamp to look at:-

/sdcard/external_sd/Music/

I guess there is no way.

So I return to my question on how to obtain a refund?

in droid-winamps settings, when you click system, there is something in there about mounting a SD card. any luck?

"...in droid-winamps settings, when you click system, there is something in there about mounting a SD card. any luck?..."

No nothing about mounting card BUT a facilty to Unmount SD card??

MrSinatra 15th February 2013 17:56

prob the same thing, except your card is already mounted. try unmounting, and remounting.

athegn 16th February 2013 07:32

Now tried that and still no reading of /sdcard/external_sd/Music/

although when I pressed Genres it took a long time to scan but at the end still only gave me the root music/

MrSinatra 18th February 2013 03:42
