Seems like every since they changed the order around things have been slow in here.

Yeah, WinME sucks... That's why I formatted the hard drive and installed Win98SE. Actually, I think the worst thing about ME is Victor, the little help dude that looks like Einstein and sounds like Steven (Stephen?) Hawkings (Hawkins?). Victor flies! No shit! I saw it on a demo HP at my local Sams warehouse. Hehe... Victor had to go.....
I found out that the only way I can get that shared memory back (I installed a Voodoo3 3000), is to get a BIOS upgrade. I don't think that 1 meg lost is gonna hurt anything cuz I've got 191 more to go 'round. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif I just installed and internal Zip100 drive today, too. http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Anyway, I can deal with the small case cuz my old PB is a monster-sized tower that could cast a shadow on the Empire State building. The HP fits nicely on my desk. Oh, and get this... I had to remove the internal modem that came with the HP cuz it didn't want to work right. Sooo... I installed my old external Zoom 56K modem. When I connected a little while ago, I connected @ 115200. Out of a 56K! I shit you not. I'm not sure how that happened, but I don't mind it. This thing is really quick right now... I hit the printscreen key to save the pic, so I'll put it up to show later. The reason it says you got connected at 115200 is cos you don't have proper win drivers for your modem installed. Your modem should still work fine. They may say the right name, but the reason Windows automatically says 115200, is cos it can't tell from the drivers what speed you are connecting at. To test this, go into the modem properties, and change fastest communication speed from 115200 to 57600. Then try and connect, win will then say 57600. Found and installed the right drivers for my modem, finally. True connection speeds vary from 33600 to 48000. Still beats the hell out of the connection speeds I was getting (or should I say: lack of speed) at my apartment. I used to only get 26400, and on rare..... very rare occasions would I get 28800.
