When I right click a folder in Windows Explorer and choose Play in Winamp, the tracks are loaded twice, which is apparent when I use Misc Options to Sort the playlist by file name. This used to work in a previous version, although the songs were never in proper order.

Probably means you've got two plug-ins that handle the same file types. Try removing one of them to fix the problem.

or in older versions of winamp, having a playlist in the directory would also cause songs to be listed multiple times.

It was caused by two plug-ins handling the same files, IN_MP3.DLL and IN_MAD.DLL. The configuration for IN_MP3 reverted to the default settings when I updated to the latest version.
