im going thru 365.com right now and it seems to be a case of if the wind is blowing in the right direction i can see my station!! i tried a search in the shoutcast directorys but im not listed...can i also get listed with shoutcast?

ive entered the correct fields in the server info broadcast box but it (shoutcast) cant find my station. does this depend on whether there is more than one person listening?

and ppl still say they cant see the tracks im playing after doing everything told!

thnx in advance...:D
p.s. even though when i change my cast to 16kbps@16hz or any other numbers e.g. 20@11 , the box then says "its not recommended continue anyway?" does this mean that some ppl wont be able to tune in or is it simply for listener sound quality? im casting from a 56k and find that the recomended sample rates skip a lot but when i change to these different rates , it does work! hmmm  a little

If I'm right Live365 streams can't be listed on Shoutcast anymore. Even people who use Live365 for the bandwidth only won't be listed.
About the bitrate - depending on the spedd of your connection 56k is probably high. You can set lower bitrates on 44100, 11025 or 22050Hz. I've never tried to change the frequency, being too afraid my computer would explode :) But you could have 16k@11025 for example.
Shees I'm taking diconnected stuff... Well it may just help you :)

thnx for that...

well it certainly expains why i cant get listed...oh well, i really could 've done with that chat feature too...bah!

about that bitrate thingy too...ive asked loads friends and done sum tests with different rates and sumtimez they come out better than the recommended ones!!!

perhaps that would explain a lot of ppls probs...hey ho!

:D
