newbie needs help with song and artist titles....
i cant seem to figure out why sometimes the artist and song title are visible and sometimes they are not...
what am i doing wrong?? help?!? |
versions of tools? how / where are you checking it?
to be able to even help make suggestions more information on the issue is going to be needed. |
well the two places i have looked so far are:
going to shoutcast.com and typing in my stations name secondly i also have the winamp app on my phone... in both instances so far...sometimes the artist AND song title show... sometimes its just or the other...sometimes its nothing at all... help? |
Sounds like some of your tracks don't have the correct metadata. Winamp Pro offers the ability to look up the audio fingerprint in Gracenote. You'll have to go over ALL of your tracks one by one and the ones that are not tagged you'll have to highlight the track and press Ault 3 and then if you see its not tagged simply click Auto Tag for that song. Or you can look up each CD you physically have. Sometimes the Auto tag feature will always go for the greatest hits packages for the artists your trying to tag. In this case Google is your best friend. Say I want to look up Diesel - Sausalito Summer Nights. The Auto tag told me it was from some compilation album Hell no I took it from Diesel - Watts In A Tank. I forgot that though and could not find my CD. So I had to google it like this:
"Diesel" + "Sausalito Summer Nights"+"recorded to get the album it came from. You can also use Sound Hound for your Android smartphone which doesn't go for the typical lazy "greatest Hits" and will tell you its from Watts In A Tank. You can get a nice Android smartphone without a contract you'll just have to look around but that smartphone will save you hundreds of hours looking up songs just use the FREE app Sound Hound and make sure there is no background noises in the room while you look up your songs. Good Luck. |
puckembucky: if you can (i.e. you / your host are able to update the DNAS software), try using DNAS v2.2 to see if that helps with the issue. though it is most likely something with the source files or something else in your broadcasting setup (hence asking and now asking again for confirmation of what you are actually using to broadcast the stream with e.g. is it Winamp + Source DSP? or a 3rd party source software).

shoutcast cutting off songs...lag help???
hi all...im not really sure where to post this but i am having troubles with my internet radio station...
one of the problems i have is that if i listen to it using shoutcast on my phone it cuts off and chops up like the first 10-15 seconds of a song... it also does not show the song title or artist on the vast majority of the library i have uploaded... i have spent a month plus building the library for this and now am very frustrated and at my wits end... help??? |
i've merged this (and removed the duplicate thread created) into your existing issues thread as it sounds to be the same issue and yet we still have no idea what versions of any of the tools, etc you're using (now being asked for the 3rd time).
people will try to help, but to do so, they need information to work with and other than saying things don't work and not being exact in where things don't appear, etc, it's impossible at the moment to advise on anything to do / try to determine and fix your issues. |
yeah i ask again because i cannot find the root of the cause...sorry :(

Quote:
yes i use winamp to broadcast and it streams thru stardust.wavesteamer.com |
you'll need to contact Wavestreaming directly to better determine the cause of any issues with your setup.
