Hey Xerxes, Raj or anyone else with some classic art training:
Can you help with the name of that famous painting with the melting time pieces? It's used fairly often in popular culture. There are clocks and wathces laying around in melted puddles in a scrub desert? The left foreground, as I remember it, has a pocketwatch hanging over a branch like a rubber pancake. Any idea of what I'm talking about? Appreciate any help on the artist and/or name of the painting. Thanks. |
Is this it?
It is called persistence of memory by Salvador Dali http://www.geocities.com/alanofields...ceofmemory.jpg |
Correct. He also did one called the "Disintigration of the Persistance of Memory" which shows the same painting
being divided into little cubes.... Salvador Dali was very influenced by the Dada movement prior his Surrealist movement... Famous for saying "I don't take drugs; I am drugs" |
Yep. True wigged out genius.
