Problem with showing source title/name

Hi,

I've read lots of topics, but didn't find answer for my problem (or my english knowledge just sux ;)).

The problem (or rather question) is, i've configured my radio station name and everything works fine, the name shows in Winamp when sc_trans is playing mp3's. But is it possible to show the name of connected source (configured in app) rather than the name from sc_trans? We are using mostly SAM Broadcaster, sometimes Virtual DJ and every DJ has his station name configured in his app.

For example:
When i am stopping sc_trans and connecting to baseport with admin password, the name from my SAM shows in Winamp without problem. But when sc_trans is playing, i am connecting to it using <Login>:<password> entry (v1), Winamp shows the name from sc_trans.config file, not from my SAM station name input.

what you're seeing is by design and is due to the v1 protocol. there was plans to allow for v2 based tools to send it through i don't remember even starting on adding it to sc_trans as v2 specific aspect.

Mhm... so it's normal than and i guess in near future won't be changed? I just love that smooth transition when source is connecting, sc_trans is fadeing out, and DJ plays. But would be awesome to be able to show in Winamp "who" is playing right now. Song names are changing... so title could be changing too. Doesn't matter is it v1 or v2 :)

there might be a sc_trans update in the coming weeks but whether it'll have such changes in it or not i just do not know - the thoughts about an sc_trans update are only about providing fixes for some of the weirder config / stability issues it has rather than adding new features.
