Through the years I have designed web graphics, I've used a combination of Paint Shop Pro and Adobe Photoshop. This has always pissed me off about Paint Shop Pro: when I am trying to cut and paste accurately, the area it shows that I am selecting is always a pixel or two off of the area I want selected.

I have never been able to figure out why.. it's about time I asked someone, I guess...

WHY?!?!

...

also, when I cut and paste, it will darken(or lighten) the very edges of my selection.. how do I stop this?

...

I've managed to work around both of these, but it is VERY time consuming and frustrating...

Thanks,

-sunshine

When you are using the 'Selection' tool in Paint Shop Pro, make sure the option (on the toolbar) for antialias is not enabled. This will stop the selections from being one pixel off and also stop the edges being turned lighter. :)
