How many listeners can I have?
Hello,
I bought a server with the following specs: ->8GB RAM ->100GB HDD ->10,000GB Bandwidth (10TB) ->4 Cores @ 2Ghz Intel Xeon E5 ->4000Mbps Connectivity with AutoDJ How many listeners can I have? with the maximum BitRate? and what is the maximum bitrate? can I not have it in Mbps instead of Kbps? I wish to have 500 listeners (at minimum would these specs be enough or do I need to purchase more - I have another $700 in my pocket.) |
You say you have 4,000 Mbps, you want 500 listeners
4,000Mbps / 500 = 8Mbps per user - more than enough to stream full HD video to 500 looking at it from a different angle, lets say you stream 320kbps MP3, how many listeners can you have: 4,000Mbps / 320Kbps = 12,500 listeners - which is 25 times the number of listeners you want. But, you can have even more listeners, because nobody streams at 320k 128k is very popular 4,000Mbps / 128Kbps = 31,350 or if you send out two streams, 128k and 64k, you could get a total of over 41,000 listeners edit: I forgot about the 10TB "bandwidth" (I assume that's per month) - it is NOT enough to support 500 listeners even at the low rate of 64kbps (assuming 100% occupancy) |
How much Bandwidth (in TB, and yes it is monthly) do you recommend I need to have to get the 12,500 listeners?
and what Software who I need inorder to sell multiple Stations? |

divide by 8 for bytes then divide by 1024 for Kbytes then divide by 1024 for Mbytes then divide by 1024 for GBytes then divide by 1024 for TBytes Quote:

To keep you updated I purchased around extra 100TB Bandwidth. Thanks for helping me once again.
