Media player question
I am trying to play a shoutcast station using windows media player ( sorry), I have selected this option under help on the main page.
When I select the station the media player opens up but says it cannot play a .pls file. I have had this working in the past, but have forgotten how I did it. Will anyone take pity on me and help?? p.s. there was a link that might help with this in one of the sticky threads but it was missing Thanks. |
Windows Media Player doesn't play .pls-files.
July 2013 my PC was in the service shop. On Frank's PC there is no Winamp. I have the folder "SHOUTcast Streams" with the subfolders of the radio stations also on his PC, but his Windows Media Player was only able to play the .m3u-files, not the .pls-files. At first I had to save an .asx-file, before I was able to listen to a radio station on his PC. When my PC was back, I created also a folder with subfolders for the Windows Media Player, I copied it to his PC, too. I can only suggest to create a folder with subfolders of the radio stations. You have to visit each radio website, at best in Firefox, and You have to save each playlist-file into the right subfolder. If a radio station has more than 1 channel, You can also save the files with the names of these channels. Here I have listed also the file formats for the different media player (I don't use iTunes or VLC or Quicktime): http://www.lastfm.de/user/SabineKlar...sts_for_winamp |
