DSP Plugin not connecting to running shoutcast2 station
 

Hello Folks,

Hope someone from this forum can help me out. I am successfully running shoutcast2 radio stations on a unix machine. I wanted to test out the DJ functionality in which you can record from microphone and broadcast it on the station, so I installed the windows version of winamp and installed the DSP plug-in.

In the DSP plugin configuration, I put in the details of my station under Output1:

server: wisdomspeak.org
port: 19000
stream:1
DJ login: wisdomspeak -> matches djlogin in sc_trans.conf of the station
DJ password: xxxxxx --> this is matching password= in sc_serv.conf for the station

This is what I am seeing in the log file on the unix machine where the sc_trans and sc_serv processes are running:

However in the windows log file in the DSP plugin window i get this:

What am I missing? Please help me.

If you're trying to use the DJ functionality from sc_trans (which is what it looks like you're describing from your configuration confirmations) then you need to connect to the DJ port of the Transcoder, not the DNAS.

Requirements for DJ connections to the Transcoder (from memory):

• You have to setup the DJ port in the Transcoder configuration.
• You have to setup a DJ user in the Transcoder configuration.
• You have to setup a schedule for the DJ in the Transcoder calendar configuration.

If you have problems trying to figure out how to set it all up, post your Transcoder configuration and calendar files (with any passwords and license keys obfuscated) so that somebody can look it over and give you suggestions.

I dont have a calendar.xml file to be honest.

I did setup this in sc_trans:

djport2=18898
djpassword=<password> # this matches the password= in sc_serv.conf

but it was not useful in making a successful connection.

From documentation the default djuser=dj and default djpassword=noise

Those settings also did not work in the DSP output1 settings. Very interestingly, Mixxx software utility was able to connect to the shoutcast stream using dj/<password> login, but Winamp is not.
