Hey folks, i'm trying to stream a scanner audio feed in stereo. I'm using a SB AWE 64 card and coming out of it is a 1/8" stereo extension cord wich goes to a radio shack splitter, which turns the one 1/8" stereo into two 1/8 mono connectors. Then I am feeding two different scanners into the splitter, each with it's own separate mono 1/8" cords.
Now, the audio at my computer sounds fine, each scanner coming out of a different speaker like I want it to, but when I listen to the stream via my own server from a different location....it's mixed somehow. I'm using linrec:// to get the audio from the line in on my soundcard....i'm assuming it's all good from there since it sounds the way it's supposed to on my machine...but why is it getting mixed? It shows up the way it's supposed to on the listener side, 18kbps, 11khz, stereo..the way it's set on the side that streaming...but it's still not full stereo. Any ideas?? Shawn |
As far as I know //linerec: can only be used in mono. So that would explain the problem. However, there may be a plug-in that can fix this. It may have been mentioned here on the board before but I am too lazy to search and I can't remember right now.
