you are looking at the wrong one. Use the drop down box and select "PPP Adapter" or something like that, hell, go through all of them (not exactly sure what it is for broadband)

Sawg 30th December 2000 06:05

MegG_|6 30th December 2000 06:09

Winsane 30th December 2000 06:12

Handy little site.

Just in case you're wondering, I just deleted the reply that you accidentally posted as a new thread.

zerohour 30th December 2000 11:58

lol. Damn.

John M 31st December 2000 09:31

Ha! that site has a different IP than the one in winipcfg.

soncikydon 2nd March 2001 15:05

the old fashioned wayt to find out your ip

open an M$-DOS window, type "netstat -n"(without the ""'s but WITH the space) and hit enter..the ip on the left is yours (the ones in the right side are ip's you're connected with )
tadaaaa :)

mr_dj_humbie 5th June 2001 16:40

OK, so you go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com and you say it is a different number, well this number (on whatismyip...) is your DNS number that it uses for the internet and this SHOULD also appear on winipcfg and also will be another number which is your proper IP address

waldiboy 9th September 2001 07:22

Hmmmmmmm.................

I added my IP-Adress in the Shoutcast DSP...but...it is disconnecting...
Could you help me?

mrjazzitup 21st February 2002 02:02

be observant

winipcfg only gives u the ip that the router assigns and netstat -n gives u that ip, but when u go to whatsmyip.com it gives u the modem ip. i connected my computer through the cable modem and i hope i can get it up and working.

my ip address changes everytime i sign on line.....is there any way to get a my ip address to stay one number all the time?

DJ Egg 24th February 2002 12:02

If your IP address is dynamic (constantly changing) then it's recommended to run the Shoutcast DSP and the Shoutcast Server on the same machine. This way you can keep the default settings.

sc_serv.ini

; ***************************
; Network configuration
; ***************************

DestIP=ANY

DSP_SC.INI

[SHOUTcast Source]
RemoteHost=localhost

You should only uses a specific IP# if it is static (always the same).

Sign up for one of these DNS services and grab a client.
http://directory.google.com/Top/Comp..._DNS_Services/
Then setup a host, and set the client to it.

Look at my post in this tread and see what I mean: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....threadid=77224

Vlad_Tepes_Drac 13th March 2003 01:02

what do you do to let other ppl listen to your radio? like a link or something.....how can i find out what this link is?

FesterHead 13th March 2003 01:52

DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000)

Also, machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled:
3. Private Address Space

How to find your ip address (Part I).
How to find your ip address (Part II).

Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though :)) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Dj Mat007 13th September 2003 21:41

Wait, for some reason, all those users seem to be the same person. Is it, or are they all different?
