Search hotkey brings up Media Library
Winamp is running either in foreground or background. You have a search hotkey and the Media Library automatically comes up with the prompt in the correct place to start your search.
I suppose it's one more step to what we have now which is f6 when the Media Library is in focus. |
didn't notice the sub-forum this was in to begin with and on first read it sounded like a bug report.
there is already a "bring to front/hide" option which might already allow you to do what you're wanting as long as the library was the last window in Winamp that was selected before it was de-focused. otherwise if it doesn't then it could be done as-is i believe with a simple plug-in using the hotkey api. |
Could be a good one if it could be implemented. So wherever you are in Windows you just hit your hotkey and Media Library comes up ready for your search. Hope that explains it.

yeah got the intention. obviously if you can see if the possible suggestion works or not then that can be used as a basis going forward for such a mode (if added natively) assuming it vaguely achieves what is wanted before doing something to ensure it's correctly done.

can you re explain what to do. Sorry I don't fully understand your instructions above. Do I need to find a hotkey plugin?
I think the other issue is it would need to bring the Media Library into audio view too for eg if you had it in playlist view last time closed then there is no search box obviously. |
was referring to one of the native Winamp hotkey actions but don't worry about trying to do it now as it won't do enough of what you're wanting (it doesn't do enough to guarantee the last window is restored as the one with focus which if it was the library window would then have sorted out most of the request).

ok. Anyway the idea is floated with all the others in the list. :-)
