I think I have to change a jpg. pic into a bmp. to make it into a skin....i need to know how to do that and if anybody can help me I will be very grateful!!

Open your .jpg file into any image editor, Paintshop pro, Adobe, whatever flips your switch.
Do FILE / SAVE AS, from there you should be able to choose what format to save it in.
If You don't have any image editing software, the quick method is to open you .jpg in whatever view is associated with it, mine open in internet explorer, do a right mouse click on the picture, scroll down and hit COPY, Then open up MSpaint, most Windows machines have it somewhere, go to the EDIT menu in there, scroll down, hit paste. Your image should now be pasted into MSpaint, simply do FILE / SAVE AS , give it a name, and bingo, one converted and saved .bmp file.

Or using Internet Explorer, open the jpeg / jpg file. Right click on it and click save as... change the extension in the drop down box to bmp.
