Reading Shoutcast DNAS Logs

Hi;
I'm new to Shoutcast broadcasting and have tried to find documentation on DNAS log file format. Does anyone know where or if there is a document explaining the DNAS log files.

TIA

Thanks of the links

Thanks for the response.
These were very helpful. Docs seem hard to find. Is there a specific doc or info on the Administrator log file. Such as what does L:xx meas or P:xx etc in each line of the DNAS server log? I see things that look like a player type or an OS??

Need Help Reading a Shoutcast DNAS Log

Hi;
I'm new to Shoutcast and am trying to administer a Shoutcast DNAS server. Not much documentation on the log files produced by the DNAS. Can anyone help me to interpret this log entry?

<02/15/15@15:18:44> [dest: 50.17.167.138] starting stream (UID: 186704)[L: 78]{A: Java/1.7.0_51}(P: 9)
<02/15/15@15:18:44> [dest: 50.17.167.138] connection closed (0 seconds) (UID: 186704)[L: 77]{Bytes: 57344}(P: 9)
<02/15/15@15:18:45> [dest: 50.17.167.138] starting stream (UID: 186705)[L: 78]{A: MPlayer svn r34540 (Ubuntu), built with gcc-4.7}(P: 9)
<02/15/15@15:18:46> [dest: 50.17.167.138] connection closed (0 seconds) (UID: 186705)[L: 77]{Bytes: 180224}(P: 9)

What does (A:),(P:),(L:) referrer to? How does one determine which player is being used? This looks to me like there is an MPlayer running on a Linux machine with (Ubuntu)" What do the series of events mean?

TIA

that's log output from the legacy 1.x DNAS.... where 'A' is user-agent and I've no idea about the other values you're asking about and they don't seem to be relevant anyway as far as i can tell.

Need Help Reading a Shoutcast DNAS Log

Thank you Dr O!
Do you know of a document which explains the Shoutcast log entries? Or if not is there a tool or program that decrypts them
TIA

unless someone who knew what things meant posted about it / manually documented it somewhere then no (there's no official way to find that out as 1.x has long been dead on the development front and resources relating to it weren't part of the SHOUTcast sale).

and based on the 1.x logs i've seen, I just don't seem like that information being relevant and whatever those numbers do mean, they're not present in the current 2.x DNAS, so clearly they can't have been all that helpful / needed. though why you're using a 1.x DNAS rather than a 2.x DNAS is a bigger issue than trying to decipher logs from an unsupported DNAS version.
