I am not sure if this a bug or my system, but the volume slider doesn't do anything when I play a cd thru winamp, I have to goto the volume control on the taskbar. Works fine while playing a mp-3 file.
Not a big problem but a little annoying, Any sugggestions welcome, thanks Winamp 2.71 PIII 866 Creative SB Live A-open 16x DVD Hollywood decoder card Windows 2000 pro |
Goto the output plugin window under winamp properties, then click nullsoft waveout plugin, then configuration, then hit 'enable' in the bottom left hand corner, under 'volume control'.

Re: volume control not working in Win2000pro
Panrix
I check out the settings you suggested, and the box was already checked, anything else?? |
try using the default skin on winamp, or it could be a 3rd party plugin doing it, cut them all out and see you can then (excluding winamp default of-course)

You're missing the point
Winamp can play CD audio, but only controls the volume for wave output via the soundcard controls. That's why the volume control on winamp only works for Mp3, Wav, Midi, etc... and not for CD audio. You will find that the equalizer exhibits similar behaviour. There is a plugin for using the EQ (and I believe the volume controls as well) for CD audio. Check the plugins section for details.
