Hi there.
My skin ( Martinamp v1.1) was published rating just 2 stars, I think it's totally unfair, my skin was much better than many of those 3 or 4 stars skins out there, please be more fair in your judgements ;-)

Mr Jones 12th January 2001 12:45

Do you mean this skin.....

Downloadable from HERE?
Not a bad start, but you gotta get away from those skinner functions, specialy your openers, closers and most of your buttons on the main window. Some of your buttons have been customised, but you need to do the rest as well, go back to it and play around, finish it off.
Untill you get away from the skinner functions, it will never rise the ranks.
Back to the day job :)

ROTFL

unfair??
yea rite Mr Jones is rite get rid of the skinner content and u will be fine with this

Zeruel 12th January 2001 23:02

You should be DAMN thankful for your 2 stars.
I would of given that skinner skin one star, if that.

Keep tryin.

(BTW, I'm still bitter from my last skin reviews, so don't mind me too much)

When is that new rating system gonna start? Im getting really frusterated at the rate things are moving at this site.

I don't mean to sound critical, just curious, but what part of your skin do you think is better than the 3 or 4 star skins?

Shahram 15th January 2001 08:05

Thank you all for your opinions.
I don't want to name any 3 or 4 star skins which I thought my skin was better than, but the reason I didn't change for example cbuttons.bmp was that this transparent shape makes the picture easier to be seen, and for compatibility reasons I didn't change other buttons on the main.bmp.
Anyway I will send another skin (Martinamp v_1.40) too soon, and I wish you would like that one.

Having made several Celeb skins, I can say that what most look fondly upon in the long term is the strength of your other skin components and not merely the background. By other components, I of course mean the buttons, cursors, equalizer, etc. My meaning here is this: if people liked the background pic, they'd download the background pic and be on their merry way. What you ask of them, Shahram, is that they like your skin. This is quite another matter. Had you been the original photographer we could ooooh & ahhhh over your abilities in photography ... as it now stands, you'd like all including the "reviewers" to ooooh & ahhhh over your skin making abilities which (unfortunately) are suspect to this point.

This skin has much promise, Shahram. Keep at it, and we all look forward to seeing how you solve the problems of making a remarkable skin all the while maintaining the integrity of the background pic. Keep up the good work. :)

Wise words from DUK there, take heed of them, this man knows his stuff, having said that, having done a fair few celeb skins in my time, I appreciate every word he is saying.

Back to the day job :)
