is this possible?
so, rather than going to the standard w/a i load my own url or html i've not seen it done - but can it?? cheers |
yes it is possible to do this,
u can do it in 1 of 2 ways the first being if u have the html page that u wanna open stored on your hard drive, use windows explorer and replace winampmb.htm with your htm file winampmb.htm is stored in the winamp directory usually c:\program files\winamp\ make sure that u call your html file winampmb.htm the second would be if u wanted to open a webpage on the internet such as http://www.yahoo.com all u need to do this time is wen u have the minibrowser open right click on the webpage and choose view source then replace all of the code with this <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0; URL=SITE U WANT TO GO2 HERE"> |
not quite right
i know about winampmb.htm, which sits inside the winamp root folder. the methods u explained only allow for end-user redirection/edits, whatever.
i'm looking for a way of putting the url address into the skin.wsz, probably changing the code that calls winampmb.htm to my own url addy. e.g. a skin for 'heinz beans' is downloaded & auto opens the 'beans web' inside the minibrowser every time! winampmb.html thereafter is never seen within that skin, |
that ones even simpler, download mikroamp u can get it here, http://www.skinmaster.co.uk/mikroamp/
all u need to do is change ur winampmb.htm file to winampmb.txt and include this in the skin, then it will load ur page wen u choose the skin <edit> poor grammer </edit> |
The MikroAMP plugin is really the best way to do this, no winamp should be without MikroAMP anyhowwwwws.
I have a really tiny re-direct scrip that loads into my MB when you change skins, that either points to a hosted web page on my server or to anywhere I want it to. For example, I've done skins for particular web sites, and I use my redirect script to point towards there domain address. Check out MikroAMP I'm sure you will find this to be the best answer to your question. Back to the day job :) |
thanx
so am i right in thinking that it's not possible on a standard winamp, only with the plug-in?
thanks, not really what i wanted to hear but i've learn't something today. cheers |
yea thats the only draw back on that, it will only work on a winamp with mikroamp
