Winamp freezing issue still ongoing....
 

.....appropos of my previous posts with regard to Winamp freezing up and emmitting a high-pitch tone in the middle of playing a track, it`s still doing it despite my having a tech go through my laptop top to bottom and installing new drivers and updates. HOWEVER, this time I got an error message as follows: a small pop-up box with the heading "Nullsoft Direct Sound Output V 2.6 [d] E" and the contents "Error creating direct sound buffer. Error code: 88780096"
I`m no kind of authority but it seems to me to suggest my laptop is fine but my Winamp itself is on the fritz and needs to be re-installed perhaps? Any and all help would be appreciated.........thanks!

Why won't you install the latest patched version of Winamp: (http://meggamusic.co.uk/winamp/Winamp_Download.htm)?

That version of DirectSound is from an older version.

I did indeed install it and everything seems to be working fine.....thanks for your help!
