Ok, get this. While running the AVS, Winamp samples MP3 files and steaming audio to run the vis. However, it will not do so for the CD player or line input(no beat detection). Is this a Winamp problem(configuration, etc...) or incompatability with my soundcard(Soundblaster PCI512)? And all three audio sources produce output to my speakers, if that helps diagnosis. Thanx,

its a problem with how winamp reads cds. it doesn't read them at all. it just sends commands to the cd rom to play it to your sound card.

the fix is to use the cd reader plugin, and that should sample the sound, letting you use any vis you want.

Ummm... I have no problems with Vis and AVS with CD or LineIn using WinAMPs default plug-in. For somereason a lot people don't think it works. :)

Thanks to both of you. I had already downloaded the CD reader. I think sawg was more of a help though, I never thought of going there. Thanks again for the helpful input.
