I'm a major newbie to linux but have managed to get the shoutcast server running fine on my linux box, from tests at various friends places it does serve quicker than the windows pc I was running shoutcast on before.

My question is, is there any software out there on linux like winamp so I can have everything on the linux machine? I left my windows machine streaming to the linux box the other night and it couldn't keep up the pace of sending the audio to the linux box over the network.

Any idea's anyone?

Icecast is the only streaming audio platform that can do that on linux right now. Go to http://www.icecast.org.

There are some things that use XMMS (for the Winamp part) and Icecast (for the Shoutcast part).
