Some of you have seen this, some of you have seen the hints and some of you have even used it,so here is a little bit more of my current work in progress.
Introducing "The end.....?"
http://www.btinternet.com/~harveynj101/skins/theend.jpg

Concieved originaly as just "the end" as a final swansong to skinning winamp, it's now quite possibly not gonna be the end, hence the "....?" added to the title.

Current project status, well let's say "slow", the main window is 80%done, just missing balance and a small posbar bug to sort out, the rest of the skin still a long way from finished, just having the old mental block at the minute, specialy over the EQ, It'll come to me sometime.

Anyhow look out for updates, ya never know when they might arrive.
Back to the day job :)

is looking cool... maybe add some supportive color? like i suggested some other time.. maybe litle orrange in some highlights ;)

pixelpusher 12th February 2001 10:34

Cool,, I tend to agree with lynx on a support color. But nothing overpowering. Just some kind of undertone. But I also like the look of basic understated simplicity. Looking good so far..
I like the new title with the question mark. Actually it adds some mystery to it's creation.. It's going to make people who don't know the story think.. The end.. Hmmmm

A tangent you might like to try would be making a "sepia" variation... adjusting the hue of the whole skin...

flatmatt 13th February 2001 19:03

I like it in with no invading colors. Plus, the added bonus of 256 grays, making for smaller file size! :D

Mr Jones 14th February 2001 00:15

And behold it came to pass that an updated screen cap was posted,it's up there at the top of the post folks, now sporting a sorry excuse for an EQ, don't worry its far from finished, some playlist functions added and the winshade mode finished up, not that you can see it, but trust me its there.

Might get around to a MB sometime this week, then can start fine tuning the skin, swatting the bugs etc etc

Interesting idea, have played with some colour pallets on it today, results were mixed, but I'll keep playing, maybe do two variations.

Back to the day job :)

hey that's cool... if you look really closely at the skin you can actually see a bunch of Llama's.

I really like this skin and can't wait to see it finished

Duk 14th February 2001 20:25

Even I can only take so much cheesecake in one sitting :), and besides, it has llama's :D

Good to have you back man :)

cappy17 14th February 2001 20:42

Duk! You're back!

Did you get the new monitor, or are you sneaking in via your sister's computer?

Heh. Stare long enough at the fogged llamas, my friend, and you'll find the hidden cheesecake.

Oh, and we should post this, now:

Quote:

"I in no way meant any harm or offense to the women out there when referring to a female...as a 'chick' or...*cheesecake*. ...I hold women in the highest regard and find them to be the ultimate in works of art. Simple biomorphic beauty and elegance!" -- Duk

Glad to be back ... and excellent skin. Couldn't see those llamas at first glance with the *new* laptop monitor setting of 1400 x 1050. :cough cough: Um as I was saying, very smooth and subtle stuff. Can't believe you actually went thru the trouble to churn out a final skin when you believed you'd not return ... better man than me. :)

Mr Jones 15th February 2001 16:56

And then there was a MB and AVS skin added to the archive.

Now the fun part can start, the finnnnnnne tuning, should be able to spend lots of time on this now that I've been ousted from the Easter skin :(

Watch out for future updates and the arrival of the end....?

Also included in the skin is a free game for all the kiddies out there, lets play hunt the llama, more details to follow.

Back to the day job :)
