I like the new cbuttons, a lot. Much better definition.
I still can't make the background out very well, could you lighten it a bit, or would that make the whole skin too light? idea: if you crop the numbers.bmp (or nums_ex.bmp, whichever you are using) to be just one pixel wide and one pixel high (ie. 1x1), the numbers wouldn't get in the way of the "CREED" title. Give it a go and see if you really want to keep the numbers - they're pretty hard to decypher anyway. Looks good. I like being able to see the on/auto buttons on the EQ. -jaz |

and what you think of the eastereggs? |
please ppl.. i could use some feedback here

instead of removing the numbers, why don't you simply move the creed "logo" around? Btw: If I were to make a creed skin, or a skin of any other band, movie, etc for that matter, I would aim at creating a skin that captures the atmosphere of the band. You don't neccesariliy have to put in there picture...here is a great example of a skin capturing the essence of in this case a movie...without using very defined photo's.

the link didnt work...

yeah, i know that skins, its a good one

If this were my skin, I would take the text of the Creed logo at the top w/o the symbol and move it higher so the numbers are more defined and not in the way. Also, the logo in the bottom right of the main window would be bigger.
For all those who are thinking how has he got the posbar slider so that it doesn't interfere w/ Creed's heads heres how. Crop the posbar bitmap to the right height and Winamp will only render what is the image rather than put blank space. This works with all bitmaps. Anything not included in the bitmap simply doesn't get shown. |
Have You Tried The Pink Panther Magenta Vanishing trick
You should know the one that uses 255 red AND 255 blue. use around the numbers so the numbers are showing but the background is transparent so you can see the logo goes for text.bmp as well if it works or does not work let me know a big lot of programs use it windows internet explorer uses it for the stop refresh... and it's icons. Neoplanet browser works with it too. as well as other programs. |

Programs allow for a specific colour to make an area of a picture file (format does not matter) invisible. Like A cloaking device it makes that area vanish allowing for the background to show through. Have you seen the download pciture of the document flying from the globe to the folder yes its not grey background thats how the themes cover that area as well not just the rest of the dialog box it makes the background show through some programs accept it some dont its the luck of the draw use resource hacker it will show you what the trick is by extracting an avi from the dlls in the system folder it will give you a clue about whayt i mean there is a plugin to play it so you can look at it. the shell32.dll contains the avi (audio visual information) file that has the pink. the resource hacker is mentioned in another forum but the link is : http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resource hacker . mess around with the extracted one it will prove you dont need a copy for every colour/background. |
Ohhhh I get it now, LOL, strangely enuff I came accross this very function last night, while in a fit of boredom had a look at doing a custom skin for my yahoo pager thingy, this uses the very same trick to create it's transparancy masks.
Not sure the same trick would work in winamp tho, and who can be bothered hacking around with .dll files to achieve an effect like this. Stick around for WA3, the old alpha blend trick for transparancies will make this a lot easier Back to the day job :) |
