Now I've seen it all, new 5 star skin tonite "darque-world gold edition", man alive we now have colour variations of average looking skins hitting the top spot LOL,
I would post a screen cap, but seems winamp isnt posting big screen grabs at the minute for some reason lol

Anyhow whats the author of this skin giving to winamp? seeing as he has 3 skins in the top ten, two the same except for a re-colour and one well average one "chaosamp", what's he slipping CO that the rest of us aint.

Could we get the top ten renamed to the "league of averageness" , just an idea :D

im telling you...if there was a "I got screwed by the reviewers" forum they would have to shut down the forums due to overloaded forums :D

maybe all the skinners who have achieved the 5 star mark should make color variations of their skin and see what the resulting star count is

I've found that the whole "Star Rating" system is a joke. I mean come on, "Skinner" skins getting five stars? "Photo" or "Image" skins getting five stars? These skins should get at least a two star deduction for lack of originality.

I've browsed through most of the skins here, and I've seen maybe 50 out of the 26,000+ truly deserving of "5 stars". (And as an admin at skinz.org, there are about 6,000 that wouldn't even be allowed on that site, because they are "rips" or they use copyrighted images).

If you wanted to use that argument, then surely the acres or metalic stero type of skins that are out there should also be deducted marks for lack of originality.

Would that be same skinz.org that has a fair few simple skinner.exe skins in it's hallowed pages?

Now if everyone did that the sheer kb volume flying into the Winamp servers would bring it to it's knees LOL

Well, After looking at the toop skins section. I decided not to shrink the bitmaps on my lastest skin. I know it's going to be over 200kb. Which still isn't huge. But it's not normally what I would do.

I think a petition is a great idea Mr Jones. We could start one right here in the forums and send it to nullsoft when we had enough names on it.

Or we could just voice some opinions and requests in a an e-mail. ie; When is the new rating system going to be up. Why is CO doing most of the rating for five star skins. Is he the one in charge of choosing which skins make the grade. Are any of the skins that got published during the mass publishing craze going to be re-reviewed re-rated and comments added.

It amazes me that they aren't in here, talking to us skinners. You would think it would concern them that some of the best skinners they have are in here bitching about the way things are. I see interaction from the nullsoft boys in the other forums. But not in here. WHY? is my question. Are we not as important.

It's a good thing most of us skin purely for the pleasure of it. Because winamp wouldn't have any skinners if it was because we wanted reconition. Although it wouldn't hurt to be noticed once in a while..

I think that once wa3 skinning takes off. Nobody should skin for it until a decent rating system is in place. I figure why help them promote there new free form system when they don't really care about us.

I think CO has somethin against the peeps in the skin love forum. He's screwin' us all. And most of these new 5 star skins r from peeps that dont post here, except for Jayn. We needa do somethin about this SHIT! :mad:

You kind of showed your ignorance with that comment. I said I don't like "Skinner" skins. I wasn't speaking for skinz.org nor was I saying they don't accept them. Just don't expect to find one with a copyrighted image on skinz site. (If you do, give me a shout and I'll remove it).
