if i had to choose a favourite, i would have to say the Red Hell is the one that i liked the most
but i would like to see all of the components of these skins to flow... they look like you took the base skin and skinned all of the different components seperately and didn't make them match with the rest. just my two cents |
you asked for it..........
Okay, Im gonna rip into you, so don't take it personal.
First of all, you HAVE to skin the Minibrowser and AVS window, they're not that much extra work, and it makes your skin look much more complete. The more you skin, the better it'll look; if people can see base skin sticking through everywhere, they're not gonna go for that well. Second, I found most of your skins hard to use, or too inconsistant. You need to make your buttons blend into the skin well, while at the same time making them easy to see. Same with the sliders. Having said that, Ill give some praise. By far, the one I like best among them all is your blue kaleidoscope. You've got some good stuff going on there. Same with your shade incubus, there's some nice stuff there. I'd go back and refine those two definitely - brush up your button edges, and skin those buttons you left unchanged. Do something different for winshade mode, rather than just copy your titlebars. Do something with your EQ sliders, they offer a huge opportunity to show off your skillz. Overall, not bad for a first set of skins - theyre all about where I'd consider myself about half done though. I have the feeling that if you'd focus more on one project you'd be golden. Good luck - - BG http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/winamp2x/dev/skins/ look around here if you havent already, this is a great step-by-step tutorial. |
U got a few good things going there. U should probably give it less of a flat look, and work hard on the buttons and sliders. They look kinda awkward on the background. And u gotta skin the avs and mb, u get more credit just for doing that. On one last note, u should skin the titlebar buttons because they look too much like the base skin. A little more effort and hard work, and you can have some pretty cool skins.

I agree with the others....a bit more 'refining' and skinning all the components would do these skins good :) I think I liked the Blue Kaleidoscope the best also.
